ABOUT BOBBY

Bobby Marquez is an Argentine tango dancer and instructor from San Diego, CA who draws from his background in bodywork and martial arts to create a unique approach to teaching tango with an emphasis on biomechanics and psychosomatic awareness.

He began his tango journey in 2018, but truly dove head first into tango in 2021, studying with Katia Diamond and becoming a tango instructor under her tutelage in 2024. Bobby has also been a licensed massage therapist (LMT), holistic health practitioner (HHP) and certified Structural Integration bodyworker since 2015. He graduated from Healing Hands School of Holistic Health and was the Structural Integration instructor there from 2017-2024. Prior to becoming a bodyworker, he was a TaeKwonDo instructor and mixed martial arts competitor from 2005-2011.

Bobby’s main goal as an instructor is to show that tango is not only a fun and beautiful dance with a rich cultural history, but that it is a powerful tool for developing your physical, mental and relational health.
